CAA SCO is at Pubcon!

A few lucky CAA Associates were given the opportunity to experience the glitz, glamour and dazzling lights of Las Vegas, Nevada for the world’s premier search and social media conference and expo – Pubcon. Attending talks and exhibits from some of the world’s foremost experts and industry leaders, our lucky Associates have been learning and reporting back the latest trends in social media and online marketing.

Fabulous Las Vegas!Just a few minutes ago, our CAA SCO eBusiness team had the privilege of sitting in on a talk given by the head of Google’s web spam team, Matt Cutts. He revealed the launch of the search giant’s new “Disavow Links” tool, which is already live for those interested in checking it out. For those of you looking for the short version of the story, the Disavow Links tool is essentially the “no follow” tag for cleaning up a sites backlink profile. In light of recent algorithm updates and various actions taken by Google to provide better quality results in its index, some websites have suffered as they’ve been lumped in with low-quality sites. Website owners can now inform Google what links pointing towards their site should either be ignored or considered. Google also blogged about the tool on its Webmaster Central Blog and the post can be read for further details and insight on how to use the tool properly.

Always looking to stay ahead of the curve, our dedicated associates will no doubt continue to send in the latest announcements and highlights from the show. Look to Life-side Connections for the latest.

Pubcon is scheduled to go on until October 18th.
