Top 5 Tech Gadgets for Fall 2017.
Technology. It’s how we work and now, in 2017, it’s often how we play. That’s why we’re always on the look-out for what’s gaining momentum and trending.
Here what we found to be the top 5 tech gadget picks for fall 2017.
Fitness Trackers in All Designs, Shapes and Sizes.
Helping you transition from the gym, to work, to a night out, fashion-forward fitness trackers are hot right now and for good reason. People want wearable tech that can take them for A to Z with little fuss. Look for devices that track by activity type, active minutes, intensity, sleep time, heart rate, calories, distances/steps and are waterproof. Watches, bracelets, necklaces, even rings are trending now, many with storage for music, which can be played via a connected pair of Bluetooth headphones. Working out and looking stylish while doing it has never been easier.
We love the Bellabeat Leaf Urban that can be worn as a necklace, bracelet or a clip.
Noise-Canceling, Wireless Headphones.
Noise-canceling headphones can be a lifesaver when you need to work in a crowded space or drown out that annoying neighbour who insists on cutting the grass at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday. And they’re also great for working out. No more ripping your earbuds out every time stretch too far in one direction. Prices range from $50 to $300 depending on the brand and sound quality.
A favourite around our offices are the Plantronics BackBeat Pro headphones, which are packed with features and are an affordable alternative to Beats and Bose offerings.
Affordable 3-D Printers.
3-D printers have been around for close to a decade but out of the price range for most average consumers. Now you can find a very good 3-D printer between $150-300; about half of what they cost just a year ago. As technology and competition advances, prices continue to drop, which is great news for those who would like to try printing things from the comfort of their homes, instead of buying them.
One getting rave reviews at a great price point is the New Matter space saving and elegant, Mod-t 3D Printer.
Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets.
It’s a great time to consider getting a VR headset because they’re not just for gamers anymore. Virtual reality is now poised to take over sporting events and concerts. The MBA, NASCAR and NHL have all held VR events for die-hard fans to critical acclaim. Concert promoters have designed special VR apps and are now holding ‘front-row’ and ‘behind-the-scenes’ VR concert experiences for millions of fans which promises to keep pushing the boundaries of the very meaning of access beyond physical attendance.
Lifewire Magazine rates The HTC Vive VR System as the cream of the crop when it comes to VR headsets for its stunning visual resolution, motion tracking and refresh rate.
Bluetooth Wireless Speakers
Now that wireless streaming is so pervasive, it makes sense that high resolution audio systems are longer tethered to cords either. The technology of wireless speakers today offers rich sound. Past issues around volume control and signal strength are no longer an issue. The speakers on today’s market are phenomenal and offer amazing sound quality. They are compact enough to take with you just about anywhere, so feel free to move the party outside, or just about anywhere else you’d like.
After trying a few first generation offerings, my personal favourite is now the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III. We think you’ll love it too!
