A Fascinating Peek into One of the Most Iconic Buildings in the World.
These fascinating photos, taken back in 1975 by a then-12-year-old Scott Rogers, offer a captivating peek into the construction of Toronto’s most famous landmark. Taken (as Scott can best recall) from Ontario Place, an almost-finished CN Tower can be seen standing alongside a near-unrecognizable Toronto skyline. In three images that follow, Scott’s photos offer a glimpse into one of the most important moments of the tower’s construction – the placement of one its final pieces:
Scott continues, “I still take pictures of it even now, but the funny thing is… I STILL haven’t gone up to the top! A few years ago a friend came here from England and we went there but the lineup was way too long. We took one look and decided we didn’t have time to wait because he had to move on soon. So I still haven’t been up there. Someday though, maybe!”
This iconic structure has cemented its place as one of the seven wonders of the modern world and attracts more than 1.5 million visitors a year.
We’d like to thank Scott for letting us share these photos with our readers. What an amazing evolution and journey.
