The countdown to 2017 is on. A new year is a great opportunity for a fresh start and to spend time with loved ones. To start your new year right, you need to celebrate in style. Here are some family-friendly Ontario New Year’s celebrations to bring in 2017 with a bang.
Head to Blue Mountain and celebrate with a carnival family party. Starting at 5:30 PM, the party kicks off with a buffet dinner followed by family carnival entertainment and activities. It wraps up around 10:00 PM with fireworks and a balloon drop over Mill Pond. Click here for more details.

Brampton’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration is one you don’t want to miss. It’s perfect for all ages and this year it features two fireworks shows, the first at 9:00 PM and the other right at midnight. If you’re in the Hamilton/Halton region head to Harmony Square in downtown Brantford for an amazing NYE party. At this celebration you’ll get to experience live music, food, ice skating, face painting, a photo booth and of course fireworks at midnight. Get more information here.

Mississauga’s Celebration Square is a great place to ring in 2017. There will be delicious food trucks, ice skating live performances from Coleman Hell, DiRTY RADiO and Mississauga-native Sickick. Niagara Falls is a fun place all year around, so New Year’s Eve is no exception. Home to one of the country’s the biggest New Year’s Eve bashes; this party features an all-Canadian concert featuring High Valley, Serena Ryder and Sam Roberts Band. Richmond Hill’s “First Night” celebration is a family-friendly event full of entertainment for everyone. There are a variety of outdoor and indoor activities like live performances on a stage outside, horse-drawn wagon rides, skate trails, carnival games, magicians and art activities to bring in 2017. Big lights, big city, big celebration. At Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto, it’s the place to be this New Year’s Eve. Not only is the party a kickoff to 2017, it’s the start of the year-long celebration “TO Canada with Love” honouring Canada’s 150th.
