Last Chance to Savour these Comfort Foods.
Curry, stew or chilli, may have been your go-to food during this cold winter but with only five weeks left until spring, you may be swapping it out for fresh celery sticks. That is if you want a svelte, super model body for summer.
No matter what your preference, there is only a short amount of time to enjoy some hearty dishes and we have a few that will make your taste buds giddy with excitement:
Tortilla soup – A Mexican traditional soup made of fried corn tortilla pieces, submerged into a broth of tomato, garlic, onion, and chile de árbol and epazote.
Sloppy joe –A sandwich consisting of ground beef, onions, tomato sauce or ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and other seasonings, served on a hamburger bun. The dish originated in the United States during the early 20th century.
Curry – A dish originating in the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent. The common feature is the use of complex combinations of spices or herbs, usually including fresh or dried hot chillies.
Pho –A Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, rice noodles called bánh phở, a few herbs, and meat, primarily made with either beef or chicken.
Chili Con Carne – Commonly known in American English as simply “chili”, is a spicy stew containing chilli peppers, meat, and often tomatoes and beans. Other seasonings may include garlic, onions, and cumin.
Apple Crumble – A dessert consisting of baked chopped apples, topped with a crisp streusel crust. Ingredients usually include cooked apples, butter, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and often oats and brown sugar, ginger, and/or nutmeg.
