Rain, Rain, Go Away…

You turn on the TV and the news is broadcasting another weather disaster. No matter where you go, what you watch or who you speak with, natural disasters are wreaking havoc. Global warming is certainly having an impact on us and the heavy rainfall, flooding and other water fiascos are making life really difficult and very costly.

As it stands, water damage accounts for half of all home insurance claims in Canada, due in part to incidents of severe weather. This extreme weather has cost Canadians nearly $10 billion in insurance claims since 1998. In fact, water-related events, such as flood, are now the most common type of natural disaster in Canada *.

If you have been affected by water damage you will know the significant impact it can have. And if you’re not insured, then you also are aware of the massive costs associated with it. Whatever the case may be, we want to let you know that we have a plan designed to protect you – it’s called CAA Water Coverage. It’s a comprehensive insurance product that combines multiple aspects of water damage, such as flooding rivers, heavy rainfall or sewer backup – this new coverage ensures you are always protected.

While sewer backup coverage protects you in the event that your sewer line backs up, it does not always protect you if water enters your home from any other entry point. That is why CAA Insurance have created one comprehensive product to cover  your different water risks.

If you have an existing property policy with us and would like to add CAA Water Coverage, please call 1-877-665-1222.
