Top Reasons to Visit the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow.
Today marks the opening of the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The 10-day event features 650,000 sq. ft. of engaging exhibits filled with global product reveals, award-winning vehicles and a dozen concept cars introducing auto trends for gearheads of all ages to enjoy. It’s sensory overload with bright lights, colourful cars, amazing videos and so much more. Plus the fact that everywhere has that ‘new car’ smell is pretty awesome too.
There are daily prizes, promotions, engaging speakers, and special events at the show as well. With so much to see and experience make sure you have a lot of memory on your camera, comfortable shoes and a few snacks. If you can’t make it out to the show, don’t worry we have you covered. Here’s the inside scoop on the top reasons to visit the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow.
This year to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday the AutoShow’s theme is “O Canada.” Around the showrooms, you’ll see the Canada 150 logo etched into the carpets and there are also exhibits showcasing the country’s automotive history. From features on Canada’s contribution to smart car technology to “The Art & the Automobile” exhibit showing off Canadian car collectors, there’s a special Canadian touch at this year’s event. For the ultimate Canadian car experience, check out the “50 Years of Grand Prix in Canada” exhibit. The 10-car display celebrates 50 years of Formula One Racing in Canada highlighting the history, legendary drivers, iconic cars and amazing pictures. And there’s a daily ticket giveaway to the 2017 F1 race in Montreal.
One of the best things about the AutoShow is the chance to view never-before-seen vehicles and concept cars. This is an exclusive chance to see unique styles, car innovation and new technology before it hits the market. This year the Canadian International AutoShow will feature its first-ever global premiere with the 2018 Hyundai Accent. As well the Aston Martin hypercar AM-RB001 makes its first North American appearance. The unveiling a concept car is like a concert with models, curtains, loud music and lights all around to get you pumped up for the big reveal. We had the chance to see the Canadian unveiling of Cadillac’s newest design concept for the Escala. Here are some pics.
The cars at the Auto Exotica are truly the most beautiful and jaw-dropping cars you’ll ever see. For the most part, you’ll never see these cars on the road. So to see them all in one room is spectacular. From Bentleys to Bugattis to Rolls Royces, car buffs will appreciate all the style, beauty and design of these unique cars. And for the vintage car lovers, there are six vintage Ferraris on display as well.
Head over to Electronic Avenue to experience electronic cars and EV technology first-hand. Electronic cars have been the buzz in the automotive industry for the past few years, and this year at the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow it’s no different. Visitors get the chance to test drive green vehicles through Plug’n Drive and learn more about electronic cars. While you’re there make sure to visit the Oasis by RINSPEED. It’s a self-driving electric car boasting two seats, a futuristic design and a personal greenhouse. That’s right, a greenhouse right on top of the dashboard big enough to grow mini bonsai trees and even vegetables.
