Let a CarFit Expert Properly Adjust Your Mirrors, Steering Wheel and More.
Can you clearly see out of your car’s windows? Can you reach and manage all the controls? Adjust the seat and seatbelt so they are secure yet comfortable? CarFit can help.
Brought to you by CAA, along with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT), CarFit helps senior drivers by assessing how they “fit” their cars for maximum safety and comfort.
The program provides safety information, offers clinics and raises awareness of resources (such as adaptive devices) that can help drivers become more comfortable and confident behind the wheel.
What happens at a CarFit clinic?
The CarFit team will work with you to adjust your mirrors, seatbelt, steering wheel, head restraint, seat positioning and more.
Any adjustment you feel comfortable making will be in line with the safety standards of your vehicle. For example, a seat adjustment could help alleviate muscle fatigue. Ultimately, the goal is to keep you comfortable and safe behind the wheel. The process takes about 20 minutes.
Drivers (55+) have the opportunity to take advantage of a free local CarFit clinic in Peterborough this June.
